Accept and embrace being the best parent you can possible do for your child right now. It takes time, but once you embrace it, I found it can release the stress and gives you more energy towards doing what's best for you child.

Not Diagnosed with Autism, What's next?
- Get your family doctor and see if they can make a referral to see a Doctor that is specialized in diagnosing Autism. The early infant program that Jaime was attending reported that Jaime had characteristics of Autism, but they were not "Authorized" to diagnose him as Autistic.
- Doctor referrals could be made, however it different by each doctor's office. However, I chose to take Jaime to UCSF, which in 2005, I was told to be prepared to pay the "full amount" for the visit and to spend 1/2 day to a full day of testing. In addition, I was told if diagnosed with Autism that my Insurance would cover the cost. Sim I only paid $100.00, as opposed to the full amount of $1,800.
- Get your child diagnosed by outside organizations if you can to help identify if your child has Autism. Jaime was also evaluated and diagnosed as having Autism at the San Andreas Regional Center, click here to find a location nearest you.
